I have started working out on our eliptical everyday. I cant fight it anymore,i have got to get in shape and loose weight. I have bad asthma so working out wears me out really fast. Its frustrating because i feel lightheaded and breathless waaaayyy before i start to feel the burn, but i read in one of my shape magazine's (thank you elizabeth) that even if you feel breathless, try to work through it for a few minutes, if still breathless stop, but more often than not you have to just get past a hill and once over it will get a little better. We've had this eliptical for 4 years and i rarely used it because it was too hard. I felt breathless after 3 minutes. But i started yesterday and am comfident in it. My way of working out is that i put on my ipod, put in my headphones and tune everything out. Its the only way i can do it. Unfortunatly that "hill" i spoke of earlier isnt normally reached till about 10 minutes in, so those first 10 feel like death. Ha! But the rest is fine. I am going to keep telling you about my workouts so it will motivate me to do it everyday.
Yesterday i did 20 minutes and the music on my ipod was(so you know what motivates me...some of these might be a tad embaressing to admit): the chipmunks, the archies "sugar sugar", ben folds five "annie waits", david archuleta "touch my hand", deniece williams "lets hear it for the boy" and the fray "how to save a life).
Today was 24 minutes! Woohoo! And my songs were: the high kings "the rocky road to dublin", jack johnson "never knew", james marsden (hairsray soundtrack) "the nicest kids in town", jamiroquai lvirtual insanity", jason maraz "the remedy", jet "are you gonna get my girl", ...this is where i was about to stop but said to myself...one more song heather..turns out the song is 3:40 minutes long..lol..but well worth it and one of my favorite artists joe nichols "dont ruin it for the rest of us".
It was a good workout. I'm thinking about starting to do yoga a few mornings a week... We'll see. ;-)
