2010 Memories/Quotes

~~January 10th 2010
We took the kids sledding today at the “pit”. They loved it. Samantha wasn’t quite sure but at almost 2 who could blame her. It was packed so we had to watch our step or get run over. Paige and Ethan had fun though. Screaming all the way down the hill. Sammy is currently pretending to be bat girl. Paige and I are laughing. She’s so silly. Paige is going pee. (She wanted me to write that).

The kids were watching “Happy Feet” the movie and this is what happened:
Ethan: “EEEEEEwwwwww. They’re eating fish.”
Paige: “They’re eating hamfish. Fish are made out of ham.”
Mommy giggles from the kitchen and walked over to the dry erase board where I write down the funny things the kids say.
Paige: “Aren’t they?”
Ethan: “Mom, are they made out of ham?”
Paige: “She’s writing it down.”

2009 Funny Kids Memories and Quotes

Over the years I have tried to remember some funny quotes the kids have said and I normally would write them down on a random piece of paper and then sometimes lose it, but I would try and put it in my bedroom. About a year ago I started rounding these up and trying to get them all on the computer to save forever. These are the ones I have found so far. Well, these are the ones from 2009. I have them sorted by year and over the next week will post the next years. Some of these are quotes but some are just funny memories.

(To my sisters..if you have some written down somewhere, can you send them to me so I can add them?")

Paige came up to me and said, “auru auru!”  (rooster crowing) then she said, “That’s from Annie”. I said, “oh yeah, who does that on Annie?” and she said, “Rooster!”

We had the kids take naps today so that they would be able to stay up late for the New Years Ball Drop. Paige got up from sleeping, walked into the kitchen, sat down on a brown paper bag filled with recyclables and PEED! Ha! She was sleep walking and thought she was in the bathroom. It took her about 5 minutes before she was completely awake.

Friday Fun

Today we did a lot. The day started with preschool. Since p and e are off school for spring break they came with and it was a fun treat because "Miss Kayla", as the kids call her, had it at her house. The all got to play with their friends and have fun. Kayla even has a trampoline in the back, which they think is the ginchiest.
After preschool we made a quick trip to Walmart for some seeds and food for Easter dinner where Sam decided to look into one of those reflector mirrors and wad cracking me up.
When we got home there was much gardening to do. I am excited about my garden this year and the kids are too. The girls and I planted our tomato garden. (for some reason the little garden I started years ago on the side of the driveway only grows tomatos.....and a lot of them too. I think I've figured out it is the egg shells I've been adding to the soil. I had heard an old wives tale that that worked so I did it and now I see things on pintrest saying so also. Woohoo. So now that is just the tomato garden and the bigger garden is in the backyard. More blogs to come on the progress of that.)
Ethan helped me roll out newspaper for our seedlings and we planted cantaloupe and watermelon in some of those. The kids also each got a seedling tray to plant whatever flowers they wanted.
After an attempt to teach Ethan to ride his bike (jim did this)and a walk around the block with the kids (i did this) I made sugar cookies while the kids played and then they came in and decorated them. It was a mess but I had just put down on the table an old sheet and then shook it off outside easy peasy.
Last but not least, a campout in Mom and Dad s room tonight. Day 2 of spring break, check.

Conversation between Ethan and Samantha. Ethan was "keeping an eye" on Sam while she was in the tub:

Ethan: "Do you know what they make toilet paper from?"
Sam:" What?"
Ethan: "Trees."
Sam: "I wipe my butt with trees?!"
Ethan: "Yup."
Sam: "Well, Jesus makes those." (the trees)

Ha! I love their conversations.

Another one about 15 minutes later:

Ethan is reading a book to Samantha before bed and this is what I hear:

Ethan: "They drove to the motel."
Samantha: "It's hotel, not motel."
Ethan:"No, it says motel. That what they call hotels in France."

Seussical!

Paige had the awesome opportunity to be in seussical the musical. It was a blast. Some long nights but totally worth it. She enjoyed every minute of it. She made some new friends, had fun, gained confidence (which she already had some of, but is more comfortable on stage now) and has officially caught the theater bug. She wants to do more and I have to admit,I had fun too. It had it's moments of being too much sometimes since we have other kids and it wad some late nights on school nights, also some scheduling frustrations, but all in all it was fun. I loved ushering and helping back stage with the young kids. It was fun for Paige and I to have that time together just us too. She's been getting jealous of all the time sam gets with Jim and I lately.
That being said, I am liking being home in the evenings and kids being back on schedule. Paige says she can't wait to try out for the next one. Lol.

Kindergarten round up

We took sam to kindergarten round up this week. She had a blast. They got to see some teachers, play with music instruments, eat a breakfast pizza, play with toys, even ride on a bus! With me starting my daycare the kids will ride the bus next year so that was super exciting for them. The pictures say it all.

Happy St. pattys day

This is a little late, but happy St. Pattys day!

Ethans picture

Ethan colored this all by himself. He worked really hard on it and was so proud of himself. He looked at a book we have of Scooby doo to make sure he was getting the colors right.
